Mister Joshooa played his first Panorama Bar set on April 26, 2025, as part of a Klubnacht lineup. He has been running TV Lounge in Detroit for over 20 years.
Panorama Bar is the upper floor of Berghain, Berlin's most mythologized club and one of the few venues in dance music that can confer a kind of international validation just by booking you. DJs from around the world chase Panorama Bar slots. Many never get them. Joshooa got his after two decades of running one of Detroit's longest-operating electronic clubs, which is the kind of career arc that makes sense only in retrospect.
TV Lounge is not a Berghain-scale operation. It is a room on Grand River Avenue that has been programming techno, house, and adjacent music since the early 2000s. Joshooa's job there is music director, which means he books the rooms, plays the rooms, and handles the residencies that give the venue its year-round identity. That is a different kind of DJ career than the touring-headliner model. Panorama Bar recognizing it is its own kind of validation.
